Pharmacy technicians regularly face common problems and ethical dilemmas in community and hospital pharmacies. This session will review legal and ethical principles, related to beneficence and non-maleficence and provide common situations pharmacy professionals may face. Dealing with these issues requires discussion about collaborative work for resolution, as well as understanding and respecting the importance of personal beliefs and what they may mean for our patient-centred practices. Participants will learn how our responsibility centres on the protection of the public and ensuring patients’ well-being, while maintaining ethical and legal boundaries.
