Rahila was appointed the Director of Social Media & Communications at the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians in February 2018. She’s also been a subject matter expert as Program Specialist at the Continuing Competency Program, Ontario College of Pharmacists where she was actively involved in the institution of standards and policies for Pharmacy Technicians in Ontario. As one of the first technicians to be hired at OCP, Rahila contributed to building the foundation of the new quality assurance program for pharmacy technicians. She earned the designation of ‘Regulated Pharmacy Technician’ in April of 2013 while working within quality assurance at OCP, complimenting almost ten years of previous service in community, retail, long-term care as well as corporate. Her 8 year tenure at OCP provided rich mentoring opportunities working side-by-side with some of Ontario’s foremost executive leaders and committees in the profession. As one of the pioneer members of the first RPhT professionals in Ontario, she continues to share her strong commitment to the evolving role of Regulated Pharmacy Technicians. She has presented on behalf of the profession at several CAPT Professional Development conferences, and volunteers regularly as a speaker, mentor and advocate of the profession.
